Breaking News:
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROSECUTE BP FOR THE OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO!!!!
BP (Beyond Petroleum) is a quasi-nationalized British company, owned mostly by the British government. So unless those extreme environmentalists want to prosecute everyone in Whitehall, drop it. Although disgusted by the situation, I am even more shocked at two things, first, the lack of public outrage against BP for the disaster and Obama's refusal to back down on offshore drilling. Does he not realize that offshore drilling will just cause the final oil bust to come faster!?! The solution is to quickly invest in alternate power sources (Kudos to MA for the Cape Cod wind farm). Drill Baby Drill has so much wrong with it that I won't start going into it here, I'd literally write an essay on it.
The fact of the matter is that yes, petroleum is our primary energy source and will be for the foreseeable future, but the consequences of maintaining our unsustainable lifestyle are enormous. So, while attention is rightfully diverted on to the Gulf Coast situation, it needs to, later, be re-directed to alternative energy. The hour of reckoning is approaching and unless humanity changes its behaviors soon, we enter into the unknown consequences of our own inaction.
